Zitran 200mg Capsule is used in the treatment of fungal infections. It is used to treat fungal infections of the mouth or vagina (thrush), skin and other parts of the body such as finger and toenails.
Pregnancy interaction:
Zitran 200mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Your doctor has prescribed Zitran to cure your infection and improve symptoms. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Do not take it with any heartburn medications - especially proton pump inhibitors and H2 blockers. Requires an acidic pH for absorption. Hence, take it with a full meal for best results. Notify your doctor if you have taken steroids recently.

However, interactions can occur. Please consult your doctor if you are asked to take Zitran and you are already taking oral contraceptives.|Does Zitran treat ringworm (dermatophytoses)? : Yes, Zitran is used to treat ringworm (known as dermatophytoses e.g. tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, tinea manuum).|Does Zitran cause an increase in blood pressure? : An increase in blood pressure has been seen with Zitran in some studies. However, this is not a very common side effect. Please consult your doctor in case you have a history of high blood pressure or you are experiencing high blood pressure after taking Zitran.|Does Zitran cause erectile dysfunction? : Yes, Zitran can rarely cause erectile dysfunction (erection problems). Please consult your doctor if you experience this problem.|Does Zitran cause weight gain? : Weight gain has not been reported as an adverse effect with Zitran. However, if you experience unexpected weight gain with Zitran, this could be an indication of an underlying heart problem. Consult your doctor immediately as Zitran can make your heart problem worse.|Is Zitran a sulfa drug? : No, Zitran is not a sulfa drug. It is indicated for the treatment of oropharyngeal candidasis.|Does Zitran work for nail fungus (dermatophytoses)? : Yes, Zitran does work for the nail fungus known as dermatophytoses (tinea unguium). Consult your doctor before starting Zitran for any infection and you must take the medicine for as long as it is prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop the medicine until told by your doctor.|Does Zitran have penicillin in it? : No, Zitran does not have penicillin in it.|Does Zitran make you tired? : Zitran does not make you tired. In case you feel very tired while taking Zitran, please talk to your doctor immediately as it may be due to an underlying liver problem or a heart condition with fluids in your lungs.|Can I take Zitran with aspirin? : There are no clinically observed drug interactions between Zitran when taken with aspirin.
